የ80 ዓመት ወጣት ቢራ ፋብሪካ

አበባ ዘመናዊነት፣ የሥልጣኔ ብርሃን፣ አዲስ እድገት፣ ...የሚባሉ ነገሮችን ማስተናገድ መጀመሯ ነው። መንገዶች ተቀይሰዋል፣ መኪኖች ብቅ ብለዋል፣ ዘመናዊ የቤት አሰራሮች ታይተዋል፣ ጋዜጣ መታተም ጀምሯል ተማሪ ቤቶች ተከፍተዋል፣ ባቡርም እየተመመ ነው፣ ወዘተርፈ።

እና፣ እንዲህ መባል በተጀመረበት በዚያን ጊዜ በአዲስ አበባ ከተከናወኑ ዘመናዊ ጉዳዮች አንዱ በመኪና ተጠምቆ በጠርሙስ እየታሸገ የሚሸጥ ጠላ የሚያዘጋጅ ፋብሪካ መቆሙ ነው።"መቼም "አይ ስልጣኔ!" ሳይባልለት አልቀረም። እርግጥ ስለፋብሪካ ነገር፣ በአውሮፓና በአሜሪካ

ስለሚሠሩ ልዩ ልዩ ስራዎች በደንብ የሚያውቁ የሉም ማለት አይደለም። ለብዙዎች ግን በራሳቸው ምድር እንዲህ ዓይነት ተግባር መታየቱ የሚያስደምማቸው ቢሆን አይገርምም። የቅዱስ ጊዮርጊስ ቢራ ፋብሪካ መስራችና ባለቤት ሙሴ ዳዊት ሃል የተባሉ የቤልጂግ ዜጋ መሆናቸውን የፋብሪካው

መረጃዎች ያመለክታሉ። አንዳንድ የፅሁፍ መረጃዎች ደግሞ ባለቤቱ ጀርመናዊ የሆነ ኩባንያ እንደሆነ ይገልፃሉ። ከ43 ዓመታት በፊት በ1952 (እ.ኢት.አ) በታተመው የኢትዮጵያ የንንግድ ጆርናል የሚከተለው ሰፍሮ ይገኛል። ቅዱስ ጊዮርጊስ ቢራ ፋብሪካ በአዲስ አበባ ከተማ፣ ሜክሲኮ አደባባይ፣

20000 ካሬ ሜትር በሆነ ቦታ ላይ ሰፍሮ ይገኛል። ቢራ ፋብሪካው ከ36 ዓመት በፊት በአንድ የጀርመን ኩባንያ የተመሠረተ ሲሆን ከስድስት ዓመታት በፊት ኢትዮጵያዊ የሆነ ኩባንያ ተረክቦታል። Ethiopian Trade Journal, Vol.1, No.1, August 1960:21

እርግጥ ፋብሪካው የተመሰረተው በሙሴ ዳዊት ሃል ሲሆን እኚህ ሰው ወደ በኋላ ለአንድ የጀርመን ኩባንያ ሸጠውታል። ፋብሪካው የተቆረቆረው በዚያው ዛሬ በቆመበት ስፍራ ነው። በንጉሰ ነገስቱ ማርሻል ሽሙት ጎዳና ተብሎ ነበር የሚታወቀው። ጎላ ጎላ ያለና ለዓይን የሚሞላ ህንፃ አዘጋጅቶ ስራውን

ሲጀምር በኢትዮጵያ የኢንዱስትሪ ልማት የመጀመሪያ ምዕራፍ ከፋች ከሆኑት ጥቂት ኢንዱስትሪዎች አንዱ ለመሆን በቅቷል። ፋብሪካው ስራ ሲጀምር አብዛኛው የስራ ሂደት የሚከናወነው በሰው ቀጥተኛ ጉልበት በእጅና በእግር በሚዘወሩ መሳሪያዎች ነበር። ጥሬ ዕቃዎችን ከማጓጓዝና ወደ ቋት

ከማስገባት ጅምሮ ድፍድፉን የማብላላቱ፣ የቢራ ገብሱን የመቀቀሉ፣ ቢራውን የማጣራቱና የማጥለሉ፣ የተጣራውን ቢራ በጠርሙስ እየሞሉ የማሸጉ፣ ወዘተርፈ ተግባራት ሁሉ የሰራተኞችን ቀጥተኛ ጉልበት የሚፈልጉ ነበሩ። የቢራ መሰረታዊ ግብዓቶች የሆኑት ቢራ፣ ገብስና የቢራ ጌሾ ከውጭ

አገሮች ነበር የሚቀርቡት የፋብሪካውን የበላይ ማኔጅመንትና የጠመቃውን ሂደት የሚቆጣጠሩ የቴክኒክ ባለሙያዎችም እንኳን ባእዳን ዜጎች ነበሩ። በመጀመሪያዎቹ የምርት ዓመታትም በቀን ይመረት የነበረው 200 ያህል ጠርሙስ ቢራ እንደሆነ ይነገራል። በዚያን ዘመን በአዲስ አበባ የመጠጥ ቤቶች

አልተስፋፉም፣ ኅብረተሰቡ በየቤቱ የሚጠመቅ ጠላና ጠጅ ይጠጣ እንደሁ እንጂ እንደዚህ እንዳሁኑ ዘመን መጠጥ ለመጠጣት ተብሎ የሚኬድባቸው ቦታዎች አልነበረም። የቀድሞውን ሁኔታ ሰምተናል የሚሉ አንጋፋ ሰራተኞች እንደሚጠቁሙት በመጀመሪያዎቹ ዓመታት የቢራ ምርቱ ይቀርብ የነበረው

ለቤተመንግስቱ መኳንንት ነበር። ፋብሪካው በዚህ ሁኔታ ስራውን ቀጥሎ ሳለ ኢጣሊያ ኢትዮጵያን ወረረች፡፡ አንዳንድ እርግጠኛ ያልሆኑ መረጃዎች በዚህ ወቅት ፋብሪካው ተዘግቶ እንደነበር ይገልፃሉ።

የኢትዮጵያ ነፃነት ከተመለሰ በኋላ በነበሩት ዓመታት ፋብሪካው የማምረት ሥራውን የቀጠለ ሲሆን የባለንብረትነት መብትን የተመለከቱ ውዝግቦች ተነስተውበት ነበር። የውዝግቡ ትክክለኛ ይዞታ የሚታወቅ ባይሆንም በ1945/6 ፋብሪካው ወደ ኢትዮጵያዊ ኩባንያ መዛወሩን የሚገልፁ የፅሁፍ

መረጃዎች አሉ። ይህ ኢትዮጵያዊ ኩባንያ በአክስዮን የተደራጀ ሆኖ ከፍተኛው ድርሻ የቀዳማዊ ኃ/ሥላሴ ነበር። የቅዱስ ጊዮርጊስ ቢራ ፋብሪካ ከነፃነት መመለስ በሁዋላ ባሉት መልካም እድገት ሲያሳይ ቆይቷልማለት ይቻላል። በ1950ዎቹ መጀመሪያ የነበረው ዓመታዊ የምርት መጠን በዓመት

50000 ሄክቶ ሊትር ያህል ነበር። በፋብሪካው እያንዳንዳቸው 100 ሄክቶ ሊትር ያህል ሊይዙ የሚችሉ 53 ጋኖች እንደሚገኙ፣ በፈረቃ 24 ሰዓታት የሚሰሩ 300 ያህል ሰራተኞች እንደነበሩና የቢራ ምርቱ በፋብሪካው የማጓጓዣ መኪናዎች በመላው አገሪቱ በመሰራጨት ላይ እንደነበር ኢትዮጵያዊ

የጠመቃ ስራ ማስተር (ብሩው ማስተር) ሥራው እንደሚመራ፣ ወዘተርፈ ከፍ ሲል የተጠቀሰው ምንጭ ያቀረበቅ ዘገባ ያስረዳል። በዚህ ወቅትም የቀድሞ የማምረቻ መሳሪያዎቹ ቀስ በቀስ ወደ ገሚስ አውቶማቲክነት ተቀይረው በወቅቱ ፋብሪካው ዘመናዊ ከሚባል ደረጃ ቢደርስም ብዙ ስራዎች

የሚከናወኑት በሰው ጉልበት ነበር። ትውስታቸውን ካካፈሉን ነባር ሰራተኞች መካከል በ1953 የተቀተሩት አቶ ሐዲስ ነጋሽ ጣሰው በዚያን ዘመን ስለነበረው የፈብሪካው ገፅታ ሲገልፁ ያነሱዋቸው ጉዳዮች ሁኔታውን ይበልጥ ያስረዳሉ። ... በዚያን ጊዜ እንዳሁኑ በኤሌክትሪክ ኃይልና በነዳጅ

የሚንቀሳቀሱ ቦይለሮች አልነበሩም። ለሙቀት ክፍሉ የእሳት ማንደጃ የሚማገደው ግንዲላ በጥም ከባድ ሲሆን፣ በተለይ በሚማገድበት ጊዜ የእሳቱ ወላፈን እጅግ ኃይለኛ በመሆኑ እስከ ሶስት ሜትር ድረስ ቃጠሎው ይሰማን ነበር። በዚያን ጊዜ አጠቃላይ የፋብሪካው ሥራ ሙሉ በሙሉ በሰው ጉልበት

ስለሚከናወን ስራው እጅግ አድካሚና አስቸጋሪ ነበር። ለጠመቃ የሚውል ኩንታል ገብስ ተሸክሞ ፎቅ መውጣት፣ ለመቅጃ ክፍል የሚቀርበውን ባዶ ጠርሙስ ከማጠብ ጀምሮ ታሽጎ እስኪወጣ ድረስ ከቦታ ቦታ የማጓጓዝና ሌሎችም የምርት ተግባሮች ሁሉ የሚከወኑት በሰው ኃይል በሸክም ብቻ ነበር።

ሰራተኞች ወደመደበኛ ስራቸው ሳይሰማሩ በፊት በነፍስ ወከፍ አስራ አምስት ኩንታል ገብስ እየተሸከሙ ፎቅ በመውጣት ለወፍጮ በየቀኑ ማቅረብ የዕለት ግዳጃቸው ነበር። በዚያን ጊዜ ቢራው ወደ እያንዳንዱ ጠርሙስ የሚሞላው በሰው ኃይል በሚሽከረከር ባለአምስት ጡት መቅጃ ነበር። ቆርኪም

በሰው እጅ በሚንቀሳቀስ መሳሪያ ይከደናል። ጠርሙስ የሚታጠበው በገንዳ ተዘፍዝፎ አድሮ በብሩሽ እየተፈገፈገ ነበር። ..." በዚህ ሁኔታ ምርቱን የቀጠለው ቅዱስ ጊዮርጊስ ቢራ ፋብሪካ በ1966ቱ አብዮት መዳረሻ በመሳሪያዎቹ ደረጃ፣ በተሽከርካሪዎች አገልግሎት፣ በህንፃዎች፣ እንዲሁም በሽያጭ

አውታሮች ስፋት መልካም አቋም ነበረው። ፋብሪካውን ለማስፋፋትና ተጓዳኝ የለስላሳ መጠጥ ምርት ለመጀመርም አቅዶ ነበር። ፋብሪካው በ1966 ወደመንግስት ይዞታነት እንዲዛወር ተደረገ። ይህ በፋብሪካው አሰራር ላይ አንዳንድ ችግሮችን ቢፈጥርም አንዳንድ መልካም እርምጃዎችን እና መሻሻሎችን

አሳይቷል። በተለይ በሰው ኃይል አቅሙና አስተዳደር ረገድ ዓይነተኛ እድገት አስመዝግቧል። በምርት አቅጣጫም በ1969 በአገሪቱ ተወዳጅ የሆነውንና ሰፊ ገበያ ያለውን የድራፍት ቢራ አገልግሎት ለመጀመር ችሏል። ፋብሪካው በመንግስት ይዞታ ስር በነበረ ጊዜ የፋይናንስና አስተዳደራዊ ችግሮች ስለነበሩበት

በዓለም ደረጃ ከ1970ዎቹ ወዲህ በቢራ ተመቃ ቴክኖሎጂ በኩል የተገኙ ፈጥን ርምጃዎችን ተከትሎ ለመጓዝ አዳግቶት ቆይቷል። የፋብሪካው ስያሜም ተቀይሮ ነበር። በ1970ዎቹ ዓመታት አንድ ጊዜ ፒልስነር ቢራ ፋብሪካ ተብሎ ነበር። ፋብሪካው እነዚህን የመሰሉ ችግሮች ቢያጋጥሙትም፣ በሌላ

በኩል ደግሞ የፋብሪካው ስምና ምርት ተወዳጅ ሆኖ እንዲቀጥል ለማደረግ ችለዋል። የቅዱስ ጊዮርጊስ ስፖርት ክለብን ጨምሮ ሌሎች ማህበራዊ እንቅስቃሴዎችን በመደገፍ፣ በማበረታታትና በማጎልበት ፋብሪካው የተጫወተው ሚናም ከፍተኛ ነው።

በአሁኑ ወቅት ኢትዮጵያ በምትከተለው አዲስ የነፃ ገበያ ኢኮኖሚ ሥርዓት መሰረት ፋብሪካው እንደቀድሞው ወደግል ይዞታ እንዲዛወር ተደርጓል። አሁን የቅዱስ ጊዮርጊስ ቢራ ፋብሪካ ባለንብረት ቢ.ጂ.አይ. የተባለ ዓለም ዓቀፍ የቢራ ጠማቂ ኩባንያ ነው። ቢ.ጂ.አይ. በዓለማቀፍ ደረጃ ታዋቂ

የሆነ፣ በልዩ ልዩ አገሮች የቢራ ፋብሪካዎችን ከፍቶ የሚያመርት ፣ ዘመናዊ የሆነና የላቀ የጥራት ደረጃ ያለውን ቢራ በማምረት በዓለም የቢራ ገበያ ከፍተኛ ስም ያተረፈ ኩባንያ ነው። የቅዱስ ጊዮርጊስ ቢራንም ወደዚሁ የላቀ የጥራት ደረጃ አሸጋግሯል። ዛሬ የቅዱስ ጊዮርጊስ ቢራ በኢትዮጵያ

  I'm a student of university in Addis Ababa. I like BGI. It used to be my dream to work there until i did my research paper for my BA degree. They wouldn't cooperate with me to distribute my questionnaire. Now my graduation got postponed to the next year because of the secretary. I would be glad if the manager takes a good look at the employees not only because of my questionnaire, but also for other students, inverster etc. I'm extremely disappointed at BGI.
